Career Coaching Public Speaking

Grade 1, elementary school, I wet myself from anxiety backstage right before appearing in front of an audience. I wasn’t comfortable with public speaking.

And I carried that fear with me during presentations, during conversations, and even INTERVIEWS.

It became a huge liability because I was uncomfortable doing it and cost me so many AMAZING opportunities.

I kept lying to myself as I was passed over for promotions by less qualified individuals who simply expressed themselves better than I did.

All the energy I was spending thinking about, being jealous of, envious of anybody else was energy that I was taking away from myself. Energy that I could have used to improve my public speaking muscle.

Once I shifted my perspective to realizing that expression is a tool I needed to be of service, I got out of my comfort zone and dedicated my time and energy to improve that asset.

In the past 6 months, I’ve spoken at 10+ events. My favourite one was at Scrum Alliance.

And my absolute favourite thing is helping people build their confidence to grow their career and land jobs they love by AMPLIFYING their public speaking muscle.

Coaching Leadership Salary Negotiation

Why do some employers and recruiters guilt trip employees out of negotiating their salary when the ranges are kept a secret? The system is simply designed in such a way that if you don’t ask the employer ends up with a BARGAIN. A highly qualified professional at the LOWEST price possible.

So when I am asked whether to negotiate or not, my immediate answer is, unless they’ve disclosed their budget, you don’t want to be that person who joins and learns 2 years later over drinks that the person who joined yesterday makes $10K more than you do….just because you didn’t ask or knew that what they’ve offered is the BARE MINIMUM. True story: that happened to me years ago.

There is a strategy on how to negotiate without appearing aggressive, sales-y, or ungrateful. I coach my clients how to negotiate depending on their situation and they have been able to increase their salaries up to 70%….especially women.

Stop feeling guilty. Money may not be the only thing that matters but it does matter.

Your salary should also not be determined based on having “North American” experience, your gender, or your race…

Career Résumé Jobsearch

In 2016 I was in the best shape of my life after a pancreatic surgery. It baffled me that all those years of lifting heavy and burning myself out at bootcamps didn’t get me the same results….all I had to do was CONSISTENTLY eat the right things.

And this applies to the 80+ people I helped in the past year. The clients who focused on the right things got the offers faster than my program ended…in less than 2 months.

Abs don’t get built in the gym. They get built in the kitchen. 🍎

Interviews don’t get converted into offers because of your resume. They get converted when you show up confident and say the right things like a doctor. 🩺

Recruiters won’t call you because your resume looks pretty. They’ll call you because you’re focused and clearly communicate your brand.

Focus on the right things so you don’t end up like me deadlifting 130lbs and sleeping at the gym only to find out you could have simply fixed your diet.

And if you want to figure out what it is that you need to fix about your job search feel free to reach out. I would love to help. 😀

Knowledge Is Like Paint If You Don’t Apply

Knowledge is like paint. If you don’t apply it it’s useless. Reason why employers value experience over certifications. Also reason why I have a bootcamp where you practice your interview answers instead of showing up to an interview like a deer struck by headlights.

✅ You learn the mechanics of how to put a story together

✅ You learn how to improvise your answers

✅ You learn the peanutbutter sandwich method to build rapport

But I’m limiting the size of the group so it’s more interactive. We only have 3 spots left for the next cohort.
